Snug Tonight ("we", "our", "us") is a sleep clothing guide for parents and caregivers. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and profile picture from those services.

Child profiles: You provide your child's name, age band, and avatar. This data is stored to personalise recommendations.

Wardrobe data: The garments you add to your child's wardrobe are stored to generate clothing layer recommendations.

Sleep logs: If you log sleep feedback (ratings, wake-ups, notes), this is stored to help you track patterns.

Location data: With your permission, we access your device's approximate location solely to fetch local weather data. We do not store your location on our servers.

Device information: We may collect basic device info (OS version, app version) for troubleshooting and compatibility.

Crash reports: When the app encounters an unexpected error, we use Sentry to capture a crash report. These reports contain technical information only — the stack trace, device model, OS version, app version, and your account ID. They do not contain your name, email, your child's name, or any content you have entered into the app. Crash reports help us fix bugs before they affect more users.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide personalised sleep clothing recommendations based on weather and your child's age
• Sync your data across devices when you sign in
• Improve the app experience and fix bugs
• Send password reset emails when requested

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Data is stored locally on your device first (for fast performance) and synced to the cloud when you are signed in.

We use Row Level Security (RLS) policies so that only you can access your own data.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — authentication and data storage
• Google Sign-In — optional login method
• Apple Sign-In — optional login method
• Open-Meteo — weather data (no personal data is sent; only coordinates)
• Sentry — crash reporting (stack traces, device model, OS version, and your account ID only — no name, email, or in-app content). Sentry is GDPR-compliant and we use its built-in PII scrubbing.

Each service has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Snug Tonight is designed for parents and caregivers to use on behalf of their children. We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations worldwide.

• We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13
• All child profile data (name, age band, sleep logs) is entered and managed by the parent or caregiver, not the child
• Child names and sleep data are used solely to provide personalised recommendations and are not shared with third parties
• Parents can review, modify, or delete all data about their child at any time through the app's Settings screen
• We do not condition a child's participation in any activity on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us immediately at support@snugtonight.app and we will promptly delete such information.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data at any time through the app
• Delete your data by using the "Reset everything" option in Settings, which removes all local and cloud data
• Export your data by contacting us
• Withdraw consent for location access at any time through your device settings

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or reset the app, your cloud data is removed. Local data is cleared immediately upon reset.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
